Today we had to get up early, but I set my alarm wrong, so we didn’t get up as early as we meant to. We made it to the meeting spot for the tour anyways. Our tour guide was named Kirsten, and our bus driver was named Manfred. The tour was pretty good. It was interesting to hear the real story. She also told us that when they filmed the family escaping up the mountain in the movie, the mountain they filmed is actually where Hitler’s bird’s nest is. So, not a very efficient escape route I’d say. It was also really cool to see all the lakes and mountains. One of the lakes was so blue. It was beautiful. Afterwards, they dropped us outside the Mirabell Gardens (and palace, but most of it’s interior was ruined in a fire, so we stuck to the gardens). They were pretty cool actually, and there was this awesome children’s park inside. Then we started walking into the inner city, but it started to rain. So instead of finding an Austrian place to eat, we found an Italian one. It was good, but not better than in Italy. Dom wanted to take one last trip into H&M, because it’s much better in Europe than in Canada. I bought some things too. I finally have some belts now, and a cool shirt for working out. We also stopped in a bookstore, where I bought some cds. Then we saw the cathedral before catching the bus back. We watched some pretty hilarious Jake and Amir, and Jeff Dunham videos on Youtube before dinner. Tante Carole made a delicious Swedish meal, with cucumber salad and we each had half an avocado with oil, vinegar, salt and some other spices. It was pretty good. After dinner Dom and I watched the Sound of Music. It was fun to see it after driving through all those places earlier. Then Dom had to pack. Everything has to fit into her two bags. Ahh!
