Day 31 - Baby Jesus and a Dead Fish

Ponte Vecchio

Boboli Gardens

Dolphin

Florence
Today we walked around and did some shopping after breakfast at the hostel. It was super sweet, they had cookies out for breakfast! Then we wanted to see the Uffizi Gallery and we had made reservations for 12:30. So we ate a bit and went in. I’m getting really super tired of Baby Jesus and Jesus on the cross, no matter how talented the artist was. Have a little creativity. I really like the Leda and the Swan paintings and carvings, etc... They had two paintings at the Uffizi. Then we headed down past the Palazzo Pitti to see the Boboli Gardens. They were pretty cool, and had great views of the city. When we finished there, we meant to have dinner at the same restaurant, but it wasn’t open yet. When it did open, dinner was delicious! Then we headed back to the hostel and on the way we looked for the dead fish which was Ed’s favourite part of Florence, besides David. We didn’t end up seeing it. We also stopped at a store and I bought two pairs of shoes. Back at the hostel, Dom and I showered and dressed for going out. Then we played Kings with Mike, Ed and Casey. Then two guys from Orange County, L.A., showed up. They knew where to find a couple of good bars so we walked down near the river. We had a fun night of dancing and almost karaoke.
